North Fork Polebridge, Montana Winter Time Beauty

On the west side of Glacier National Park there is a out of the way place called Polebridge.
One of my favorite places. The Polebridge Mercantile has the best bakery!

Avalanche Lake Hike West Glacier Montana Hiking

Avalanche Lake hike trail is one of the most popular hikes in Glacier National Park. It's  agentle grade and beautiful destination.

Not far from West Glacier entrance.

 Entrance to Glacier National Park

My sister was able to visit from out of state. The bears were a big attraction for them.
The Avalanche Lake Trail is located in the Lake McDonald area and begins on the Trail of the Cedars, a boardwalk that winds between boles of huge cedars and cottonwoods to Avalanche Gorge.

The trail is 2 miles and gains 500 feet and it's a moderate half day hike!

There were several waterfalls but hard to see in the photos. It was beautiful!!
My first time to see this weird thing...a slug of some sorts!

We had a great hike and can't wait to do it again!!

Glacier Park Hidden Lake Hike

The trailhead starts behind Logan Pass Visitor's Center. The visitor center has no food or drinks so be prepared. There is a bathroom and a small gift shop.
Try to get here early because the parking lot fills up fast and you might have to keep driving around looking for a parking place.
Hidden Lake Trail is a popular hike at Glacier National Park! The trail is 3 miles to the lookout and another 3 miles to the lake. Most of the first half is boardwalk. Have your camera we usually always see mountain goats, bighorn sheep and other wildlife.
Have fun!!
The view is amazing driving up the Going to the Sun Road
We parked in the Logan Pass parking lot and here we are heading up the boardwalk on the Hidden Lake Trail. 6 miles total
Along the way we saw my favorite animals the mountain goats!!!
Looking back toward Logan Pass parking lot.

Looking down at Hidden Lake. Were hiking down to the bottom today.
The mountain goats like to take the trails too!!

Coming back down the boardwalk.  Really neat hike that doesn't take that long.

We made it down to Hidden Lake. It was a smoky day out because of some forest fires.

Logan Pass Back Country Ski and Hike Fun June 2012

Here are a few photos from our fun up at Logan Pass (Continental Divide)  Skiing. Pretty foggy when we got there but cleared real fast and forgot the sun screen. We were tomatoes at the end of the day. Lesson learned but so much fun up there! No mountain goats that day.
